John Guest celebrates 50 years of UK manufacturing, innovation and quality this year. We felt there was need to celebrate this achievement!
Did you know that JG products have been used in a wide variety of industries other than the plumbing market? The below showcases just a small sample of some of the diverse applications that have adopted JG push-fit technology.
Attention! JG worked along side Foster Miller to produce an air conditioning unit that could be fitted into Armoured Personnel Carriers. This was to enhance warrior performance in hot environments by reducing heat and stress in battle. They did this by sending cooling fluid through a combination of JG fittings and tubing to a specifically designed suit that the soldier wears. So when the nation called for help in Iraq, JG answered. At ease Soldier!
Pigs and Speedfit? That’s right Speedfit has been involved with little piglets in Denmark. Speedfit connectors are used in sprinklers to keep the dust and smell down in pigsties and stables. Many feeding troughs are also connected with elements of the speedfit range to mix the food ingredients and vitamins. So Speedfit is used as a feeding tool for animals! Who’d have thought?
JG, beer and bikes. Perfect combination? We thought so! In 2005 JG was involved in providing vast quantities of beer to the biggest motorcycle event in Europe. Over 150 beer taps were installed on site to cater for the bikers needs. Who needs the pub when you have JG fittings?
How’s that BMW 760i of yours holding up? Pretty well? That’s probably because it contains 14 John Guest connectors in fuel applications in each car! It’s not just water we like here at JG, we’re into cars too!
Here’s one final little JG secret for you…JG is involved in contributing to your fun filled event at Wembley Stadium. That’s right, all your beer and soft drinks are dispensed through JG pipes and fittings but don’t blame us for the hangover!
These are just a few of the many different things that JG has been involved in over the past 50 years. If you’ve used JG parts in some interesting ways please let us know!
